Loving This Tee

A while back, I got a package form Perception Apparel, a company based in Virginia (represent!). It came nicely folded in a sealed plastic bag. I received a t-shirt called “Mind Over Matter,” and you will soon see why.

The title fits perfectly, no? I thought so, too. I really love this design, and it is one of the more “serious” pieces on the site. I’m not quite sure what the art direction of the brand is, as all of the designs are quite different from one another and there’s no one thing that ties them all together besides being labeled with “Perception.” Nonetheless, this is one sweet shirt and I am a fan of most of the other designs as well. Gryphony just launched yesterday, so now I’m going to do a quick review of their first shirt. Gryphony is a new curated t-shirt site that will have a new design available every 72 hours. The package promises fun, so let’s see what’s inside! Read the rest of this entry »

Time to review another tee! A while back, I got a sweet package from Angry Spade. All their designs involve spades (makes sense, right?). I will be reviewing the army colorway of a design called “Spider Webs.”

Angry Spade, spider webThe shirt came in a clear sealed plastic bag, packaged with some stickers and a button. There was also a personal note inside with a coupon for all you fabulous readers. When you visit the Angry Spade shop, be sure to use the code “LOVINGTHISTEE” to take 15% off of any order (no expiry).

It’s gearing up to be review season at Loving This Tee, or at least I’m going to try to make it review season, seeing has how I haven’t had time to write them in a while and I have plenty of shirts to talk about. So let’s start things off with a sweet t-shirt from 604Republic called “Jeeves3000.” If the artwork style looks familiar, then you may not be surprised to hear that it’s by Alex Solis (alexmdc). Can I just say that he’s a fantastic illustrator? Because he is.

604 Republic, robot, Alex Solis, alexmdcLet me give you the lowdown on 604Republic. It’s a Canadian company started by a former co-founder of Split Reason, a popular t-shirt shop for geeks and gamers. When it launched in September, 604Republic’s mission was to be the best and biggest place to buy art hoodies. Things have changed in the past few months, as 604Republic is now a place for geeks and is focusing on pop culture from here on out.

604Republic, robot, Alex Solis, alexmdcJeeves3000” is one of the shirts from the very first 604Republic release, so that’s why it’s not more pop based. It’s actually my favorite design out of all the ones available right now, which makes it quite a treat for me to review! Read the rest of this entry »

Say hello to a new hoodie at Tilteed! Expansion by Sven Palmowski (a.mar.illo), one of the winning designs from Tilteed’s launch contest, is now available as a zip-up sweatshirt. Unlike Wotto’s Dead Head hoodie released last month, the Expansion hoodie has the design sitting on the front, going right over the zipper. For now, there’s only a mock-up of what the print will look like, but I bet it’s going to be a cool design to see split into two when unzipped.

a.mar.illo, Sven Palmowski, hoodieThis design is being printed on a black American Apparel Flex Fleece hoodie, one of my favorites on the market. I have several of these hoodies in various colors and they’re very soft, warm, and perfect for layering in the wintertime. As noted in the product summary, the drawstrings will actually be white. I think that’ll look even better, as they’ll match the design.

The Expansion hoodie is on pre-order at Tilteed until noon Pacific Time tomorrow (12/10/10) with special introductory price of $32. After that, it will enter the permanent shop catalog and be offered for $39. Take an additional $2 off with the code “LovingThisTee.” Now’s the time to pick one up and save quite a bit!

I hate cold weather, but what I do love about winter is that I get to wear lots and lots of layers. I love t-shirts, but hoodies and jackets are pretty great too. And if I don’t need to drive anywhere, snow is also quite beautiful (and fun to play in). Looks like Old Man Winter loves everything about winter, including the cold. Even without all the layers, he remains jolly in the freezing temperatures. I bet it’s a magical onesie that he’s wearing. Hmm, now I want one of those…

Do you like elephants? I like elephants. They’re kind of scary up close because they’re so massive, but they’re pretty cool creatures. I remember when I got to ride on one during one of my trips to Thailand. It was such a fun experience!

elephant, Proboscidea, Tilteed, Jared Stumpenhorst, stumpyhorseTilteed has a Limited design by Jared Stumpenhorst (stumpyhorse) right now with none other than, you guessed it, an elephant! You can get your copy of “Proboscidea” for $10 (after using the coupon code LovingThisTee), but act fast because it’ll be gone at Noon PDT tomorrow (October 23)!

I don’t think that I am a huge fan of owls in real life, but owl art is so fascinating. This is expecially true in the case of the new Tilteed Limited design by Raid71 (Chris Thornley) called “Old & Wise.” The bird has one eye, for crying out loud. It’s a cyclops owl!

Old & Wise, Tilteed, owlGet your copy of “Old & Wise” before your chance flies away. It’s available at Tilteed for $10 (after using the coupon code LovingThisTee) until Noon PDT on Thursday, October 14.

Ninja Turtles, TMNT, AtslopesI recently received a package from Andrew of Atslopes, and inside were some TMNT goodies. I am a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so opening this envelope was like opening up a very early birthday present. The contents included a Ninja Turtles t-shirt, a print, and an Atslopes line sheet. I’d also like to add that I love the image glued onto the envelope. SkiFree was such a fun game to play back when I was a little kid.
