Archive for October 2010
Since October 13, Trung at Loyal K.N.G. has made a pledge to donate 50% of the brand’s profits to charity: water until the end of 2010. As if that weren’t enough, Trung is now celebrating his 22nd birthday by doing even more. From now until October 31, you will be eligible to receive a Loyal K.N.G. item equivalent to the amount that you donate to charity: water. For example, if you donate $20 to this great cause, Loyal K.N.G. will send you a shirt of your choosing that’s priced at $20. All that you need to do is follow the steps found here.
One of the cool people that I got to meet during my time in Portland is an artist who goes by the name diskgrunt. He creates lovable characters and makes cool silk screened wood panels and t-shirts featuring them.
One of the newer designs that I quite like is called “Pup and Sheep.” I’m not really about cute t-shirts, but this one’s very difficult to resist! It shows a friendly little puppy saying hello to the sheep that he has been told to watch over. Too bad for him, they’re all afraid and group together instead of befriending him. Love it!
Do you like elephants? I like elephants. They’re kind of scary up close because they’re so massive, but they’re pretty cool creatures. I remember when I got to ride on one during one of my trips to Thailand. It was such a fun experience!
Tilteed has a Limited design by Jared Stumpenhorst (stumpyhorse) right now with none other than, you guessed it, an elephant! You can get your copy of “Proboscidea” for $10 (after using the coupon code LovingThisTee), but act fast because it’ll be gone at Noon PDT tomorrow (October 23)!
SockMonkee (Chris Sandlin) recently released his new line, and I must say that all six of his new products look amazing. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on one of the designs called “Blue Like Jazz,” a t-shirt that I will be reviewing today.
“Blue Like Jazz” features a saxophone-playing owl that’s creating sweet tunes into the wee hours of the night. As a matter of fact, he’s having such a great time playing that the music is carrying him through the air. I love designs like this because you can’t help but feel calmer when you look at them. I don’t generally like zombie tees, but I will make an exception for today’s Teefury offering. “Z is for Zombie” by John Sumrow is just straight up awesome! Need I say more?
Go get your copy at Teefury for just $9. It’s on sale today only, so don’t dillydally!
A few weeks ago, I received a sweet package from laFraise, a European design competition site. I have been a long time fan of laFraise, so it’s quite a treat to get to review one of their t-shirts today! The t-shirt that I will be reviewing is called “The Big Bang Theory” by GUS.
When I took the contents out of the envelope, I was greeted with a t-shirt sealed in a custom plastic bag (the brand can be seen in the bottom left-hand corner), a laFraise sticker, and care instructions. There are no care instructions inside the shirt, so the little card was a nice touch. I didn’t actually look at it, but I suppose that if you don’t own that many t-shirts, then it’s good to have. As you can see, the shirt also came with a laFraise hang tag, which only added on to the strong branding of the product.
The Fall 2010 collection is now available at Rise and Resist (randr), and I am loving several of the designs! One of these designs is called “1979” and it’s just absolutely beautiful. I love the abstract shapes in this illustration, since they make this pin-up girl look like some kind of goddess. This design is available on both lime and white, and there’s also a tank version.
Another design that I am a fan of is called “Glyph.” This one’s much different and a lot simpler, but it’s an interesting take on the brand name. I also love that it’s a v-neck!
Both of these t-shirts are priced at $25. Be sure to check out the full Fall 2010 line over at the randr shop!
