Gryphony just launched yesterday, so now I’m going to do a quick review of their first shirt. Gryphony is a new curated t-shirt site that will have a new design available every 72 hours. The package promises fun, so let’s see what’s inside! Read the rest of this entry »

Doctor Hazmat is a brand that I’ve recently fallen in love with. They only have 3 designs in their storefront so far (all of which are amazing!), but I’m seeing big things for them in the future. The latest release is called “Super Doctor Hazmat,” and it’s a nice tribute to the classic NES game Super Mario Bros. I definitely want this on my body ASAP!

You can pick up your copy of “Super Doctor Hazmat” from the Doctor Hazmat shop for $25.

I’m not going to say too much in this post. Instead, I will let the pictures do the talking. I now present to you a glimpse of the new 8-Bit Zombie line, most of which will be dropping tomorrow (8/5).

Not only is 8BZ releasing hats this time around, but there are tons of t-shirts in the mix. I’m more excited than words can express! For more eye candy, check out this post by Ross of 8BZ over on Emptees.

All tees are $9 at Threadless today only!

Along with launching some new designs and reprints, Threadless is holding another super sweet $9 sale! The last $9 sale was on Black Friday, and many great new tees have been released since then, so it’s time to pick up some more items! Here are my recommendations for this sale:

I will admit that I am quite horrible at video games, but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying video game themed shirts. Available at Teefury for one day only, “80 MPH” by davidfromdallas is a shirt that combines Mario Kart with a real-life scenario. In this design, Mario is being ticketed by a police officer for speeding. Since the others who are way ahead of him weren’t ticketed, I’m wondering if this citation is not only due to speeding but also a broken taillight or something of similar nature. Whatever it is, Mr. Policeman needs to make it snappy so that Mario can get back into the race!

$9 at Teefury, available in Mens S-XXL and Womens S-XL

Although I am, and have always been, quite horrible at the vast array of Mario video games, I still love seeing references made to them. This week’s Threadless releases includes one tee that takes Mario’s use of mushrooms to another level.

Magic Mushrooms”  by Ian Summers is a parody depicting Toad as a drug dealer and Mario as a sketchy buyer. The whole scene is shady, as the transaction between Toad and Mario occurs in a poorly lit alleyway. There are some key elements in the background, such as the pipe and the Goomba-like figures that help add to the Mario theme of the illustration.

I guess that the ratio of mushrooms to number of boxes punched is simply too low. Maybe Mario does not even get larger in size after eating a mushroom. Perhaps what we see on the television screen as we play the game is merely a figment of Mario’s imagination. Castles to defeat? Princesses to save? Could it all just be one big trip? I cannot answer any of these questions, but I do know that Super Mario Brothers will be even more fun to play after having seen this shirt. Time to get out the Super Nintendo!

Don’t delay picking up “Magic Mushrooms” at Threadless. It is a hot seller, and some of the guys’ sizes are already on special order!
